Nature has endless aspects of beauty. It’s spotless, it’s divine, it’s inspiring, it’s mesmerizing. And when it comes to Pakistan, it seems as if nature has blessed the land with incomparable factors. Kashmir offers many such attractions that will surely make your holidays memorable for a lifetime.

Nubra Valley, about 150 km north of Leh, is one such destination that is synonymous with peaks and landscapes wrapped with thick layers of snow. The place was earlier known as Ldumra, literally meaning ‘the valley of flowers’. This is the place where Shyok River meets the Nubra or Siachan River.

Diskit Village

This village is frequented for the Diskit Gompa – the oldest, and the largest monastery in the Nubra Valley. This 350 year old monastery is located amidst apricot plantations. This is a nice place to spend a few days in solitude with your family, friends or partner. You can also enjoy a wonderful ride on the double-humped camels here.

Samtanling Gompa

Located at Sumur Village, this monastery houses a fine collection of idols, frescoes and tangkhas (painted and embroidered scrolls). People also love to go for camping along side the river. These lines with smiling picture sends us Rubab form Kashmir. She is school teacher after completing her Masters in Arts. She is here to get attention for her beloved Kashmir the land from haven.
