Diskit Village This village is frequented for the Diskit Gompa – the oldest, and the largest monastery in the Nubra Valley. This 350 year old monastery is located amidst apricot plantations. This is a nice place to spend a few days in solitude with your family, friends or partner. You can also enjoy a wonderful ride on the double-humped camels here. Samtanling Gompa Located at Sumur Village, this monastery houses a fine collection of idols, frescoes and tangkhas (painted and embroidered scrolls).
