Monica is an actress and model of Tamil Film Industry. She was born on 25th of August 1987 in Kottayam which is situated in Kerala, India. Her birth name is Rekha Maruthiraj and Monica is her screen name. This lady started acting when she was a child and has done many movies as a child artist.

She is best known of her acting in the movies namely Silandhi, Azhagi and Imasi Arasan 23m Pulikesi. Her mostly film are in Tamil language but she has also done couple of few movies in Malayalam and Telugu. She made her first debut movie entitled as Avasare Police 100 as a child artist. In 1994 her one more movie as a child artist was released with the title En Aasai Machan which is also a Tamil movie.

Her acting in this move was superb and critically praised. She has been awarded with the Best Child Star Film Award by the Tamil Nadu State on her stunning acting in this movie. From 1990 to 1996 she has done almost 9 movies as a child star. She has been acted in three Malayalam movies in years 2001, 2004 and 2007 respectively. Her two Telugu movies were released back to back in year 2002 and one movie was released in 2003.

In 2009 she signed for many movies and three movies are still filming. The names of these movies are Varnam, Agarathi and Hrudayadali Idenidu. She is also working on her 2010 project namely Nanjupuram, Gowravargal and Naran, all these movies are in Tamil Language and under production.
